Reporting the branch's trustees and contact persons

On this page, you will find instructions for reporting the branch's trustees and key persons' information to the district.
Trustees and other contact persons are reported to the district immediately after their election. The report is made using the OSSI branch register tool. Through OSSI, the branch can submit a notification of elected trustees and contact persons and view the branch's membership list and membership fee status in real time.
You log into OSSI with the same credentials as in Oma. OSSI can be found in the top menu of Oma and at the address ossi.punainenristi.fi. OSSI replaces the old J-cards, and all elected positions of trust must be visible in the minutes attached to the OSSI notification in the future. Ready-made minutes templates have been created for different meetings and can be found on this page and on the OSSI support pages in Finnish and Swedish.
Branch chairpersons and vice chairpersons have automatically been given the branch's OSSI administrator credentials. The credentials work when the following conditions are met:
- valid membership
- a profile in Oma
- the email addresses in the Finnish Red Cross membership register and the Oma profile match
- The branch can also grant administrator credentials to a third board member and viewing rights to OSSI to five board members.
Branch authorised signatories, trustees and contact persons
- The obligation to report authorised signatories to the register is based on the decree of the Finnish Red Cross. Up-to-date contact information ensures better communication, support and guidance for the branch.
- The branch board can authorise two signatories from among its members in addition to the chairperson, vice chairperson, treasurer and executive director. The branch secretary is not automatically an authorised signatory of the branch. However, they can be authorised as a signatory provided that they are a member of the branch board.
In OSSI, the branch can:
- Create a notification of a new meeting and report the trustee and contact person elections made at the meeting in question.
- Submit the meeting minutes to the district.
- View previous meeting notifications (NOTE: OSSI is not, however, an archive for minutes).
- View the branch's membership list in real time.
- See the branch's new members.
- See the current and past trustee information of its members.
- View the status of membership fees in real time.
Guidance and support
Instructions and support for using the tool can be found on the page: OSSI, user guide for branches (currently only in Finnish and Swedish)
The primary support for branches in using OSSI is provided by the district OSSI administrators and other district employees.
