Course introduction
The aim of the training is for participants to gain a basic understanding of how the Red Cross first aid standby services operate and what the quality guidelines require of a standby volunteer. Participants will gain a solid foundation in providing first aid following various medical emergencies or accidents as part of first aid standby service activities. Participants' motivation for continuous practice is strengthened.
Target group
The training is aimed at volunteers who wish to work in first aid standby services. Active first aid group members who are at least 16 years of age and wish to become first aid standby volunteers may apply for the course.
Learning objectives
Participants must hold a valid FRC First Aid Course EA1®. The course may also be taken by volunteers who have been away from standby service activities for a period of time and wish to update their skills.
Certificate
Credit-rated Sivis training model: The training is credit-rated, with a scope of 3.5 credits. Credit-rated certificates are issued by Study Centre Sivis, and the completion entries to the Sivis study register are submitted by the district or local branch that organised the training. Through the Sivisverkko study register, you can view your own information and print your own certificates if you have identified yourself in Sivisverkko. Identification can be done, for example, using your own online banking credentials.
Delivery methods
