Course on Friend Activities

Course Introduction

The Friend Course is a three-hour package, after completing which a volunteer can take part in almost all Friend Activities.

After the course, volunteers are recommended to take, if needed, other Friend Activity supplementary trainings.

Target Group

The training is aimed at those interested in volunteer roles in Friend Activities.

Learning Objectives

  • The volunteer familiarises themselves with the diverse forms of Friend Activities, reflects on the factors that influence encounters, and practises listening in different roles.
  • The volunteer reflects on the meaningfulness of Friend Activities and becomes motivated to serve as a volunteer friend.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites.

Certificate

The Red Cross district or branch that organised the training will issue you a certificate. The scope of the training will be recorded on the certificate as 3 hours. Participants will additionally receive a training certificate in Oma Punainen Risti.

Execution of the training

The training can be carried out as in-person or remote training.

Trainers

The training can be delivered by Red Cross Friend Activity trainers.

Languages of the Training Material

The materials are available in Finnish and Plain Finnish, as well as in Swedish, English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
