Basic Course on Preparedness to Help

Training Overview
Every volunteer is part of the Red Cross’s preparedness. The Basic Course on Preparedness to Help introduces volunteers to what Red Cross preparedness means, how it is maintained, and in what kinds of sudden emergency situations local branches may be called upon to help. During the training, participants will gain an understanding of the agreements, plans, and resources that make up the Red Cross's overall preparedness. A simple exercise will help participants reflect on their branch’s strengths and capabilities in situations where authorities request assistance.
The total duration of the course is 6 hours plus an interim assignment.
