Well-functioning branches are the foundation of all our activities, and all branches must have access to the support of a branch mentor. A branch mentor is an employee of the branch's own district.

  • The objective of the mentoring program is to promote long-term, comprehensive development based on local needs and to maintain sufficient aid readiness.
  • Through this mentoring, we ensure the operational capacity and vitality of our branches, both now and in the future.

The mentor’s role is to

  • Maintain regular contact with the branch.
  • Facilitate the branch's self-assessment and the creation of a development plan in collaboration with the branch.
  • Support and monitor the development of the branch's activities.
  • Act as a holistic supporter for the branch.

The practical implementation of the mentoring program is organized by the districts in a manner that takes regional resources and needs into account. The National Headquarters coordinates the nationwide branch mentoring program. The goal of the national program is to create a nationwide overview of branches' aid readiness and to promote high-quality activities based on local needs. The National Headquarters provides mentors with training, support, and orientation for the branch mentor role.
